Originally a salt marsh and lagoon, Mission Bay was approved for redevelopment in 1998. Following on the heels of a major development by UCSF nearby the area has a huge area of publicly available parkland and waterways. On the North-East end is the ATT ballpark; the waterway makes its way South-East along a corridor of busy development, past a unique collection of houseboats to Mission Creek Park underneath the overpass of the 280 freeway.
